Application Eligibility: Are You Ready for BTBU?

BTBU welcomes international students who meet the following criteria:

For Bachelor's Degree (Chinese-taught programs):

• Must be a high school graduate
• Required HSK Level 5 or above
• Age between 18 and 25

For Master's/Doctoral Degree (Chinese-taught programs):

• Master's applicants: Must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Doctoral applicants: Must hold a Master's degree or equivalent
• Required HSK Level 5 or above
• Master's applicants: Age not exceeding 35
• Doctoral applicants: Age not exceeding 40

For Master's/Doctoral Degree (English-taught programs):

• Master's applicants: Must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Doctoral applicants: Must hold a Master's degree or equivalent
• Required TOEFL score of 80 or above, or IELTS overall score of 5.5 or above, or equivalent language proficiency recognized by BTBU. Native English speakers are exempt
• Master's applicants: Age not exceeding 35
• Doctoral applicants: Age not exceeding 40

Application Materials: What You Need to Prepare

To ensure a smooth application process, gather the following documents:

1. BTBU Application Form: Complete and print the form generated from the online application system (https://btbu.17gz.org). Ensure it's filled in Chinese or English and includes a photo.
2. Passport Scan: A clear scan of your passport's photo page and any relevant Chinese visa pages.
3. Highest Degree Certificate/Study Certificate: A notarized copy in Chinese or English.
4. Academic Transcripts: Notarized copies in Chinese or English.
5. Foreigner Physical Examination Form: This form must be fully completed, including the physician's signature, hospital stamp, and your photo stamped over the seal. It should be valid for 6 months.
6. Language Proficiency Certificate: HSK certificate for Chinese-taught programs; TOEFL/IELTS for English-taught programs.
7. Resume/CV: An up-to-date curriculum vitae.
8. Personal Statement: A compelling essay outlining your academic goals and reasons for applying.
9. Study Plan/Research Proposal: A detailed plan for your intended studies or research.
10. Two Recommendation Letters: From professors or employers.
11. Opening Report: Required only for doctoral degree applicants.
12. Notarized Certificate of No Criminal Record.
13. Application Fee Remittance Slip: A copy of the payment receipt for the 420 RMB application fee.
14. CSC Scholarship Application Form: If you are applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship, register at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn (BTBU agency code: 10011, Program Type: B).

Accommodation Fees (per day):

• International Apartment (Fucheng Road Campus): 70 RMB/bed/day
• Liangxiang No. 14 Apartment (Liangxiang Campus): 40 RMB/bed/day
