Starting in 2026, international applicants to Chinese universities take the CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment). Below is a clear breakdown of what each subject covers, how it’s scored, and how to focus your preparation.

Mathematics

The math section emphasizes algebra and functions (~60%) including sets, inequalities, function types, equations, and sequences. Remaining topics: trigonometry (~15%), analytic geometry & vectors (~15%), and probability & statistics (~10%).

Format: 10 MCQ (30 pts), 5 fill‑in (20 pts), 3 problems (30 pts), 1 comprehensive (20 pts).

Physics

Focus areas: mechanics (~30%), electromagnetism (~25%), thermodynamics (~15%), waves & optics (~10%), modern physics (~10%), experiments (~10%). Same question structure as math.

Chemistry

Distribution: chemical reactions (20%), stoichiometry (20%), concepts & atomic structure (15%), acids/bases/salts (15%), bonds (10%), organic basics (10%), experiments (10%).

Chinese Language

Requires HSK 5–6 proficiency and follows high‑school standards. Structure: language fundamentals (20 pts), reading comprehension (70 pts, four passages), writing (60 pts: one 150‑word expository and one 350‑word argumentative essay).
